“Fish in the Sea” directed and written by Alex Bohs, films a young adult and interviews him on his “true crush story” about a girl who he had met through fate. The young adults name is Adam, a fish tank feeder at the local aquarium. One day while taking a break from work, Adam strolls down the nearby ocean view just to take in the beautiful sight all alone. Until he meets a random girl who walks up to him to have a genuine conversation with him, little did he know that he met his “fish in the sea”. And knew that this one can’t get away.
I loved this short film/documentary because it really defines what it means to find that one fish out of millions in the sea. Or in this case, you’re one true love. In you’re lifetime you can meet so many people, yet the one that stands out could be possibly the most special person in your life. How do you approach it? Do you let it run away from you, or do you let it come back to your life by fate. Adam faced a little bit of both worlds, as the first time he met the girl, he walks away without getting her name or number. But knew she comes every free entrance day at the museum. So he leaves a note for her to read every time she visits that specific spot near the ocean view. I thought the cinematography was awesome as well. Seeing shots of sea horses and fish together, or even a shot with all the fish and sea creatures swimming around, but the way i see it is that Adam was the one fish that the girl wanted to see again and give it a try to know each other. It ends with hanger if Adam ever met her again, but we see that he does and this time reels in the catch.
